Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 June 2026
Clore ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our website, mobile application, and related services (the "Services").
We operate from the Netherlands and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide directly
- Account details (name, email address; or your Google/Apple account details if you sign in with them)
- Profile information (username, profile picture, gender and price preferences, region)
- Your activity on Clore (liked products, boards, follows, style profile)
- Communications with our support team
b. Information collected automatically
- Device details (IP address, OS, app version, device identifiers)
- Usage data (interactions, product views, features used)
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
c. Information from third parties
- Authentication providers (Clerk; and Google or Apple if you use social sign-in)
- Product and store data from partner stores (we do not receive your purchase details — purchases happen on the store's own website)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide and improve our Services
- Personalise recommendations and discovery feeds (your "weave")
- Send notifications you have opted into (e.g. new drops from stores you follow)
- Communicate with you (support, updates, marketing with consent)
- Ensure safety, detect fraud, and comply with laws
- Conduct analytics and product development
3. Legal Basis for Processing
Under GDPR, we process your data based on:
- Contract: to provide the Services you signed up for
- Consent: for optional features (e.g. push notifications, marketing)
- Legitimate interests: improving Services, ensuring security
- Legal obligations: complying with Dutch and EU regulations
4. Sharing Your Information
We never sell your data. We may share it with:
- Service providers: hosting and infrastructure (Google Cloud), authentication (Clerk), push notifications (Firebase)
- Authorities: if required by law
- Business changes: in case of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization
When you open a product on a partner store, you leave Clore — the store's own privacy policy applies to anything you do there, including purchases.
5. International Data Transfers
Some data may be stored or processed outside the EU (for example by our cloud infrastructure providers). We ensure appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are in place.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as required by law.
You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time in the app via Profile → Settings → Delete account, or by emailing hitesh@clore.app.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Withdraw consent (for marketing or notifications)
- Request data portability
Contact us at hitesh@clore.app to exercise your rights. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices (encryption, monitoring, limited access). While we take steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
Clore is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Updates will be posted here with the revised "Last updated" date.
